The Daniel Boone High School’s Biogas Digester Research Group seeks to obtain opportunities for Science Students and students in the community to increase environmental awareness and foster environmental leadership. We hope to inspire students to pursue careers and majors in STEAM/STEM related fields. The Group will continue research into the integration of the Biogas Digester System with the school’s Algae Bioreactor System and Hydroponics System. By producing carbon dioxide infused water, the algae can grow, and by producing organic waste and digestate, the hydroponics system has a source of nutrients. Furthermore, we will continue the pursuance of renewable energy methods and environmentally friendly systems.
